A UK-headquartered, private equity-backed software business with a strong M&A track record is hiring a Corporate Development / M&A Manager to drive the execution of deals across North America. This newly created role will serve as the company’s on-the-ground M&A lead in the U.S., partnering closely with the local U.S team, as well as the central team in the U.K. The successful candidate will be responsible for building relationships with founders, advisors, and targets across the software ecosystem, constructing/crafting deals, and then creating value creation plans to drive organic growth, post-acquisition.
Flexible working location across the U.S. East Coast preferred for closer alignment of time zone with the U.K and for proximity to existing U.S based staff, however this is not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and execute software and technology M&A opportunities across North America.
- Build and manage a robust pipeline of potential acquisition targets through networking, conferences, proactive outreach and via advisors.
- Lead financial and strategic analysis, including valuation, synergy assessment, and investment memos.
- Engage directly with founders, management teams, and advisors to negotiate and close transactions.
- Manage all negotiations and deal structuring.
- Manage end-to-end due diligence workstreams and coordinate with internal teams across Product, Finance, and Operations, etc.
- Act as the local U.S. representative for the company’s M&A strategy and support post-acquisition integration where needed.
Candidate Profile
- C. 6–10 years’ experience in M&A, corporate development, PE investing, or investment banking.
- Strong preference for prior corporate development experience.
- Demonstrated track record of completing software or technology transactions – Desirable, not essential.
- Advanced financial modelling and analytical skills.
- Strong communicator with the ability to build trust with founders and leadership teams.
- Entrepreneurial, autonomous, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, international environment.
- Willingness to travel across the U.S. and periodically to the U.K.
