About School Solutions
School Solutions is a dynamic division of K12 Coalition focused on driving meaningful academic growth in K–12 education. Throughout the year, we partner with schools and districts to provide instructional coaching, professional learning, high-quality curriculum, and strategic guidance aimed at enhancing educator effectiveness and improving student outcomes. Each summer, we operate RISE, a national summer learning program serving 100,000 students across 22+ states.
With deep expertise in school leadership, curriculum implementation, and instructional best practices, School Solutions delivers tailored, research-based solutions that address the evolving needs of our partners. Guided by a commitment to equity, instructional excellence, and long-term capacity building, we collaborate closely with educators and district leaders through hands-on coaching, immersive training, and strategic partnerships. Our mission is to support schools in achieving transformational learning outcomes that last well beyond our direct engagement.
Employment Type: This is a part-time, seasonal role for Summer 2026 with variable hours.
- Training: Virtual sessions begin in April
- Program Dates: On-site work runs from May through July 2026
- Schedule: Approximately 18-30 hours per week (about 60-75 workdays total)
- Pay Structure: Daily rate (see “Compensation Range” below)
Location: Due to the scope of our RISE Summer Learning Program, we are hiring Summer Education Consultants to provide on-site support in specific regions: New Mexico, Indiana, Southeast Michigan, Washington State, and San Antonio, TX. Applicants must currently reside in one of these regions and be able to reliably commute to local schools for in-person coaching days.
Travel: Local travel to schools within the listed regions is required. Summer Educational Consultants will spend up to five days per week, approximately 6 hours per day, on-site at assigned schools.
The Opportunity
School Solutions, a division of K12 Coalition, is seeking an experienced instructional leader to join our RISE Summer Learning Program as a Summer Educational Consultant. These Consultants play a vital role in supporting partner organizations across the country to implement our high-impact program. They provide hands-on, immersive professional development and instructional coaching to both educators and program leaders, working side by side to strengthen instructional practices in literacy and math.
We're looking for someone with experience in K–8 literacy and math instruction who has successfully led teams to achieve strong academic outcomes in diverse educational settings and is passionate about coaching and developing educators.
This is an exciting opportunity to advance our mission of closing opportunity gaps and ensuring equitable, high-quality instruction. There is also potential for continued full-time opportunities with School Solutions following the summer program. This role reports to the Director, Summer Learning Programs.
What You'll Do
Strategic Planning and Content Development
- Strategically set the vision for high-impact instruction and implementation of School Solutions' curriculum and instructional models in a set of school or network/district partnerships to ensure strong and equitable outcomes for all students
- Design and develop instructional materials and resources tailored to each partner's specific needs and strategy — this includes adapting existing School Solutions materials and creating new content when needed
- Ensure that high-quality, impactful instructional management plans, professional development, and coaching services are provided to teachers, instructional coaches, building leaders, and system leaders.
- Engage in collaborative team structures to ensure alignment between School Solutions team members and to continuously improve School Solutions' instructional tools
Coaching and Instruction
- Deliver model lessons and classroom demonstrations to support teacher development and highlight instructional best practices
- Actively monitor progress of partners through onsite coaching, ongoing data analysis, and meetings with key stakeholders
Other Duties
- Support the team with additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to help meet evolving organizational goals and objectives.
Who You Are
You are an experienced, successful educator with a track record of results for students - You have demonstrated success creating lesson plans, assessments, and/or instructional materials.
You are solutions-oriented and excel as a critical thinker – You address challenges proactively, take ownership of your work, and find creative, effective solutions. You embrace feedback to continually refine your approach.
You take ownership and demonstrate initiative – You are a motivated team player and self-starter, ready to contribute to your team's goals with a collaborative and solutions-oriented mindset.
You are incredibly organized - You have the ability to use your time and resources efficiently and effectively and have experience managing your time and energy to accomplish tasks successfully.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in K-8 education or a related content area strongly preferred
- 5+ years of experience teaching
- 2+ years as a manager/developer of teachers
- Experience working with diverse learner populations — including students with special education needs, multilingual learners, and students from a range of socioeconomic backgrounds — across charter, public, and private school settings
- Track record of achieving strong academic outcomes in a school setting working across grades K–12
- Strong writing and communication skills, including experience leading both virtual and in-person professional learning
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and balance multiple demands while working across several partner schools
- Knowledge of the Common Core State Standards is preferred
Compensation Range
The daily rate is estimated to be approximately $630/day for each piece of on-site work, inclusive of preparatory time.
