Rex K-12 is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Curriculum Writer to develop a comprehensive Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-900) course during Summer 2026.

The selected candidate will design a full certification-aligned course from start to finish, ensuring rigorous alignment to Microsoft’s AI-900 exam objectives while making content accessible and engaging for secondary students and workforce learners.

Scope of Work

The Curriculum Writer will

  • Develop a detailed scope and sequence aligned to official AI-900 exam skills outline
  • Map course objectives directly to Microsoft certification standards
  • Design a complete course suitable for:
  • In-person classroom instruction
  • Virtual live instruction
  • Self-paced learners
  • Create lesson plans with clear learning targets and essential questions
  • Create custom instructional videos aligned to lesson objectives and AI-900 certification standards.
  • Build formative and summative assessments aligned to exam expectations
  • Develop rubrics for project-based assessments
  • Create hands-on labs, applied AI activities, and real-world use cases
  • Design review materials and exam prep tools
  • Ensure academic rigor, clarity, and instructional purpose throughout
  • Differentiate content for varying learner readiness levels
  • Incorporate ethical AI discussions and real-world application
  • Upload all content directly into the Rex K-12 learning platform
  • Maintain organized documentation for long-term company use
  • Create detailed teacher guides for each unit ensuring seamless instruction
  • Develop a structured series of training videos designed to prepare instructors to confidently teach the course, including guidance on content delivery, pacing, key concepts, assessments, and best practices for implementation across instructional settings.
  • Develop a complete, certification-aligned course totaling approximately 40 instructional hours, including instruction, labs, and assessments.

This is not simply content writing. It is full instructional design with certification precision.

Timeline & Expectations

  • Contract Period: June 1, 2026 – July 31, 2026
  • A set number of work hours will be allocated upon hire
  • Work may be completed at your own pace within this window
  • Regular progress check-ins are required
  • Deliverables must be completed within the contracted timeline

All materials must be finalized, uploaded, and organized by the end of the contract term.

Qualifications

Preferred experience includes

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-900) is preferred, but not required
  • Experience with certification-aligned curriculum design
  • Background in AI, cloud computing, computer science, or related fields
  • Experience teaching or training students or adults
  • Strong understanding of assessment alignment and backward design
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible instruction
  • Experience working in LMS platforms
  • Exceptional organizational skills

Compensation

  • $25–$35 per hour based on experience
  • Potential for additional contracted curriculum or training work

This is a 1099 contracted position. All candidates will be required to sign an NDA and complete necessary onboarding paperwork.
