Role Description
Reporting to the division vice president East, the Manager, technical training and field operations support manages the development and delivery of technical training programs for HVAC and Plumbing trades as well as being an integral participant in Service and Plumbing initiatives involving pricing, technical operations support or process modifications within Service Experts and its associated companies.
- Manages the Technical Trainers and their development
- Maintains trainer schedules to ensure all classes and support line (Tel Tech) are staffed properly
- Recruits and hires technical trainers based on the needs of the company
- Develops and manages the design of training materials to include training handbooks, job aids, models, multimedia visual aids, computer and web-based tutorials, and standard operating procedures
- Participates in the design, development and implementation of training programs of a broad organizational scope
- Facilitates training programs as needed
- Recommends and/or implements innovative solutions, modifications and enhancements to technology training programs
- Evaluates effectiveness of training and development programs, utilizing appropriate data collection instruments and procedures
- Consults with cross functional project teams, leaders and/or stakeholders
- Coordinates or performs administrative functions necessary to deliver and document training programs
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
- Oversees and manages Service and Plumbing Flat rate program for the US business
- Leads initiative discussions related to Service and Plumbing revenue generation opportunities from a field employee perspective
- Works in concert with Service Experts Career academy leadership where shared resources can aid in delivery of new Apprentices
- Provides technical support for the department
- Evaluates & resolves technical issues with our Service centers
- Facilitates technical assistance to our Service centers
Qualifications
- Graduate of a technical training program with Associate’s Degree or equivalent and/or completed Apprenticeship training program in the HVAC or Plumbing Trades
- Minimum ten (10) years Journey level field experience in HVAC or Plumbing
- Two (2) or more years’ experience as a technical training instructor in HVAC or Plumbing
- Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse team

- Ability to interpret educational needs and develop effective instructional solutions
- Working knowledge in designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating training plans, curricula, and methodology
- Proficient in productivity tools including: Microsoft Office products, including: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, TEAMs and Outlook
- Skilled in presenting ideas in a clear, concise manner
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Project management and presentation skills and the ability to resolve complex problems and issues
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on rapport building, listening, and the ability to deliver effective training programs
- Ability to consult with stakeholders to offer important technological and organizational feedback
- Demonstrated ability to train adult learners required
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a complex environment
