Position Overview
Special Olympics Illinois is seeking a mission-driven Human Resources Program Associate to provide support for the development and implementation of programs centered around enhancing workplace accessibility, and support for employees with disabilities on a part time basis.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Support the design and launch of HR programs
- Assist in researching best practices and legal requirements in relation to disability inclusion within the workplace
- Assist in coordinating employee feedback sessions and focus groups as tools
- Work with athletes and agencies to identify opportunities for training and development for hired employees
- Develop a training guide for employing people with disabilities
- Provide guidance on system implementations, upgrades, and integrations across platforms
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure communication and materials are inclusive and accessible
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Human Resources, Diversity Equity and Inclusion, or related fields
- Familiarity with ADA compliance and accessibility
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive information and HR related data
- Utilize HR software and systems
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Office products
- Project oriented to help create a new project to the end
Work Schedule & Requirements
- Remote
- Reports to Human Resources Generalist
- Flexible hours as needed not to exceed 20 hours per week
- Independent in-state travel occasionally required, may include some overnight and weekend travel as an essential function of position
- May require walking, standing, and/or sitting with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls; includes sedentary work
- Close visual acuity required to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of copy/printer/fax machines;
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required
- Offers of employment are contingent upon clear results of a background check
Pay Range: $15/hr - $17.50/hr
Benefits
2 hours of paid time off earned for every 35 hours worked. Up to 13 days may be carried over annually. 401(k) options for all employees working over 1,000 hours annually.
