Virtual Tutor (**hiring on an as needed basis)

Overview

The Reading Elevation Blueprint is a pod-based, virtual reading program for grades K–5. Our mission is simple but powerful: Reimagine Literacy. Rethink Education. Rebuild Confidence.

We are seeking certified teachers to join our team as Reading Tutors. Tutors will deliver small-group, virtual instruction that helps students strengthen foundational skills, build confidence, and grow a love for reading. This is a part-time, contract position ideal for educators who thrive on structured literacy approaches and want to make a meaningful impact.

Duties

• Deliver live, small-group tutoring sessions twice per week following our structured literacy approach.
• Use provided lesson plans, guided readers, and digital resources to facilitate instruction.
• Record and monitor student attendance each session.
• Monitor student progress through ongoing assessments and homework completion checks.
• Record and submit student homework data weekly via our digital tracker.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with parents and program leadership.
• Collaborate with the program director to implement feedback and improve student outcomes.
• Foster a supportive, engaging learning environment that motivates students to thrive.

Requirements

• Certified teacher with an active teaching license.
• Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in education or a related field.
• 1–2 years of classroom teaching experience (required).
• Strong understanding of phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension strategies.
• Experience teaching or tutoring elementary students (K–5).
• Proficient with online learning platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, Guided Readers, etc.).
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills in a virtual setting.
• Organized, reliable, and committed to student success.
• Growth mindset and openness to coaching and feedback.
