The Cloudera Octopai Data Governance and Lineage platform provides automated metadata discovery, lineage visualization, and governance intelligence for modern and legacy ecosystems. It enables enterprises to manage, secure, and understand their data across systems and environments through a unified, cloud-based platform.

Your Role

We are seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead the evolution of Cloudera Octopai’s SaaS & On-Prem Data Governance and Lineage platform. This role requires strong expertise in SaaS & On-Prem product management, technical data lineage, and metadata management, with a deep understanding of SaaS & On-Prem deployments and operations across major cloud providers.

You will define the SaaS product strategy and roadmap, working closely with engineering, GTM, and customer-facing teams to deliver a scalable, secure, and high-impact platform. This position combines product strategy, technical depth, and customer engagement—bridging the needs of enterprise users, cloud infrastructure, and metadata intelligence.

As a Principal Product Manager you will

• Define and own the SaaS & On-Prem roadmap for Cloudera Octopai’s Data Governance and Lineage platform within the Unified Data Fabric strategy.
• Partner with engineering to design and scale a cloud-native SaaS platform with strong performance, reliability, and compliance.
• Lead go-to-market alignment, collaborating with sales, field, and marketing to position the SaaS product effectively and drive growth.
• Translate complex enterprise use cases into product capabilities for metadata harvesting, lineage visualization, and catalog integration.
• Drive connector coverage and interoperability across BI, ETL/ELT, and data storage systems.
• Collaborate with UX and engineering to ensure seamless usability and workflow efficiency.
• Partner with customers and field teams to validate use cases, prioritize features, and support adoption.
• Use agile methodologies to drive product delivery, feedback loops, and continuous innovation.

We are excited if you have (Required Qualifications):

• 8 years of product management experience in SaaS or cloud-based enterprise software, preferably within data governance, metadata management, or analytics.
• Proven experience defining and scaling SaaS & On-Prem products across multiple cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Strong technical understanding of SaaS & On-Prem architecture, deployment, operations, and telemetry.
• Deep understanding of technical data lineage, metadata extraction, and data catalog frameworks.
• Experience with connectors and integrations across diverse data ecosystems (ETL/ELT, BI, databases, data lakes).
• Proven collaboration with field, customer success, and engineering teams in an enterprise context.
• Strong analytical, communication, and prioritization skills, with the ability to translate complex technical requirements into business outcomes.
• Experience with usage analytics and in-product telemetry for SaaS optimization.
• Familiarity with RBAC, compliance, and governance frameworks for enterprise data products.
• Experience collaborating with global enterprise customers and partner ecosystems to support complex deployments.
• Awareness of cost management, scalability, and operational metrics in SaaS infrastructure management.

You may also have

• Understanding of AI and ML applications in metadata enrichment, anomaly detection, or lineage inference.
• Exposure to product-led growth (PLG) models and customer self-service enablement in SaaS platforms.
