They are seeking an entry-level software engineer to design and develop applications for unmanned undersea vehicles, working on the full life cycle of software systems. Responsibilities As a software engineer for General Dynamics Mission Systems in Quincy, MA, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing and developing state-of-the-art applications for unmanned undersea vehicles You will work on software encompassing the full life cycle of these systems, from embedded control code to GUI-based topside tools for planning and monitoring missions Skills Requires a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information Agile experience preferred Excellent programming skills, specifically in C++ User interface Web Development experience is a plus Able to work both independently and as part of a development team Linux and Windows experience is highly desirable; hardware experience is a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills Solid problem solving and troubleshooting skills Clear understanding of the software engineering concepts, principles, theories, software development process, and agile methodology Creative and organized thinker capable of applying new information quickly to solve challenging problems Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities with growing complexity Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others Benefits 401k matching Flex time off Paid parental leave Healthcare benefits Health & wellness programs Employee resource and social groups And more Company Overview General Dynamics Mission Systems designs and delivers critical systems and products for defense and cybersecurity customers.
