About the Opportunity

Are you an experienced HR Generalist ready to take ownership of site-level HR operations in a mechanical services environment? We’re hiring an HR Business Partner to support approximately 100 team members at a Florida-based operation of a growing company in the HVAC, refrigeration, and building systems service sector. You’ll be the local HR lead, partnering with a collaborative North American HR team while delivering frontline support in a fast-paced, service-driven business.

This is a hands-on role ideal for a confident HR professional who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys building structure in evolving organizations. With recent acquisitions and active integration underway, you’ll play a key role in supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term people initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to site leadership, fostering a high-performance and high-engagement culture.
  • Support all aspects of benefits administration, including enrollments, reconciliations, and third-party provider communication.
  • Manage leave of absence programs (FMLA, disability, personal leave).
  • Address employee relations issues, including investigations, coaching, and terminations.
  • Lead employee recognition and engagement initiatives, helping embed a culture of appreciation.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal labor laws and internal policy.
  • Support the rollout of corporate HR programs in engagement, culture, performance development, and more.
  • Provide basic payroll coordination in partnership with a managed services provider (Paychex Flex).
  • Contribute to HR integration projects, including handbook rollout, benefits strategy, and organizational alignment.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of progressive HR Generalist experience, ideally in a service-based or field operations environment (e.g., trades, skilled labor, technical services).
  • Strong knowledge of Florida labor law and U.S. HR compliance practices.
  • Proven experience supporting benefits, performance, recruitment, and employee relations.
  • Hands-on experience in environments where HR serves both office and field-based personnel.
  • High proficiency with MS Office and HRIS systems; experience with Paychex Flex is a plus.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across a diverse team.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • A collaborative mindset and service orientation to support team members at all levels.
