Summary/objective

Indiana Members Credit Union is seeking a strategic and dynamic leader to serve as our Director of Human Resources. This role is pivotal in driving HR initiatives, fostering a strong organizational culture, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise, professionalism, and passion to managing our most asset—our people.

Essential functions

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Oversee all facets of human resources including employee relations, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives within the workplace.
  • Manage employee benefits, payroll, and compensation processes in collaboration with ADP Workforce Now or other HRIS systems.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to make informed HR decisions and strategies.

Competencies

  • Proficient Computer Skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and regulations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or other HRIS systems.

Supervisory responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the HR team to achieve excellence in service delivery.
  • Assist in resolving problems and answer questions

Work environment

  • Office (primarily onsite with occasional WFH opportunities)

Physical demands

  • Standing – ability to remain in an upright position on the feet.
  • Sitting – ability to rest oneself upon the buttocks, as on a chair or stool.

Travel required

  • Minimal travel required, with occasional visits to branch/administrative offices.

Required education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of HR experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) preferred.
