Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized Human Resources Specialist to support our leadership team with core HR functions. This is a remote, part-time (10 hours/week) contract position focused on managing employee benefits, coordinating recruitment and hiring processes, onboarding, and ensuring HR compliance.

The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare HR or small business HR operations, be proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage employee benefits enrollment, changes, and ongoing administration.
  • Post job openings, screen applicants, schedule interviews, and coordinate hiring processes.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding, including completion of paperwork and system access setup.
  • Maintain personnel files and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist with HR policy updates, handbook maintenance, and compliance audits.
  • Support performance review processes and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Act as the main point of contact for HR-related questions from staff.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent HR certification.
  • 3+ years of HR experience (healthcare industry experience a plus).
  • Familiarity with federal and Oregon state employment laws.
  • Experience managing benefits and payroll coordination.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
  • Able to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.

Contract Details

  • Remote position with flexible scheduling (must be available for occasional scheduled calls).
  • 10 hours per week with potential for increased hours as the clinic grows.
  • Contractor status (1099).
