About the position

Responsibilities

  • Work under the direction of the Director of CETL to coordinate and facilitate large-scale events around teaching and learning for faculty, instructors, and staff.
  • Work with the Faculty Director and program coordinators to promote and run programs.
  • Using the CETL website, SharePoint, and email, market programming with clear pathways to sign up and attend workshops, communities of practice, book clubs, and other events.
  • Assist in running CETL book clubs and communities of practice in coordination with faculty director.
  • Coordinate efforts around faculty and instructor onboarding (may include things such as New Faculty Academy, New Faculty and Instructor Orientation, Promoting Advancement and Growth for Educators, and others).
  • Update and maintain the CETL SharePoint by regularly posting news, adding information to pages, uploading workshop videos, and organizing files.
  • Oversee CETL administrative staff.

Requirements

  • Completed Bachelor's degree in education, student development, curriculum development, professional development, training, instructional leadership, faculty development, educational innovation, or related field.
  • Two years of professional level experience in a post-secondary environment teaching, developing, coaching, training, or mentoring faculty.

Nice-to-haves

  • Completed Master's degree in education, student development, curriculum development, professional development, training, instructional leadership, faculty development, educational innovation, or related field. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Three or more years of professional level experience in a post-secondary environment teaching, developing, coaching, training, or mentoring faculty.
  • Strong knowledge of learning theories, effective online/blended teaching and learning practices, and instructional design models.
  • Experience developing and delivering faculty development programs related to online course quality assurance.
  • Quality Matters (QM) Peer Reviewer certification, Quality Matters (QM) APPQMR workshop facilitation workshop certification.
