Position Type: Part-Time (10–20 hours per week) Location: Newport News, VA/Hybrid Reports To: HR Manager Position Summary: The Part-Time HR Generalist provides vital administrative and logistical support to the HR department. This role is primarily focused on day-to-day HR operations, including employee communications, supplies management, and record keeping, helping ensure smooth delivery of HR services and support to the broader team. Key Responsibilities: · Support onboarding processes by preparing and mailing new hire boxes and tracking 90-day milestone for new employees · Assist the HR Manager in creating and maintaining employee profiles within the HRIS (UKG) · Conducts or acquires background checks · Manage onboarding data entry for new employees and during open enrollment · Coordinate the tracking and distribution of job descriptions and employee birthday recognitions. · Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs at the request of the HR Manager · Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs with the HR Manager · Manage and maintain inventory of branded employee items · Draft termination letters · Track referral bonuses · Enter and track personnel action forms into the HRIS for HR Manager and Leadership approval · Respond to Spectrum resume requests and maintain documentation in the HRIS and Spectrum’s File Management System (BOX) · Order and manage pick-up of employee recognition items such as engraved clocks. · Provide general office support · Run HR-related reports as needed at the request of the HR Manager. · Assist with administrative follow-ups and support for HR compliance tasks. · Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law Requirements · Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in human resources, business, or administration required. · 1–3 years of experience in an administrative or HR support role preferred but not required · Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. · Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). · Strong written and verbal communication skills. · Ability to handle confidential information professionally and discreetly.
